Tucker and Ironman

It's true! We know how to draw Ironman, because Tucker came to visit us in December and taught us how!
Mr. Domingo mounted and hung the finished products for us.

Little Buddies As Writers

Our Little Buddies came to see us and they brought their published writing.
Each Little Buddy read their published piece to their Big Buddy.

How exciting to be the first to see their published pieces. Budding writers amongst us.

Holiday Sing-Along

Here is the fabulous, Mr. Abernethy, the Master of Festivities for our Whole-School Sing-Along! He also doubles as our music teacher extraordinaire! Boy, are we LUCKY!

Do you remember doing the Reindeer Dance with Mr. Abernethy and Mr. Lofstrom? Crazy times! They sure can shake their tail feathers.

Fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Olson, even brought her new little Laney to our festival of song and dance.

Principal Ficken Reads to Us!

For the holidays, Principal Ficken read to us. He read this book first.

Then this one. Mrs. Carter, third grade teacher, recommended this one.

The students were so pleased to have him read, he read two books!

We are lucky to have a principal who is willing to carve time in his busy schedule to give us the gift of a read-aloud.

Santa Boxes

Did your adult like your Santa Box for his/her gift?
I made one for Ms. Matthews. She was surprised.
Here are some pictures of Mr. Domingo helping with the painting of the Santa Boxes.

Here are pictures of Mr. Domingo helping us wrap our Santa Boxes.
What would we do without him?
 Cry. Probably.

Did your adult/parent/friend enjoy the gift you  made for her/him? I sure hope so, because it was made with love.

Happy New Year!

Hey Students,
I hope that you have your popper I gave you for Christmas to use tonight. I also hope that when you pop the popper you will think about how much you have learned so far in third grade and be ready to plow ahead with more learning upon our return. There are a lot of books to read, math to learn, science to discover, social studies to digest, and the enjoyment of being a team. Go Team Standlee! Miss you all.

Additionally, if you chose to post comments, remember NOT to use your LAST name. Thank you.

See you soon,
Mrs. Standlee

IXL over the Break, Anyone?

Are you remembering to work on IXL over the break? I hope so as this will help you stay fresh and ready when school resumes. Remember, we are working on the C Family. Try to have this section finished by Jan. I am watching to see who is working. Let me hear from you. What have you done on IXL?
