I seem to remember writing September on our whiteboard each day of the week, but is it really gone for good? Where did it go? We learned a lot this month about school-wide rules, classroom expectations, how to use a binder to organize our materials, how to use our Student Planners for homework, how to behave in the gathering spot, how to enter and exit our classroom, how to order lunch, where to sit in the classroom, assemblies, computer lab, library and lunchroom, how to line up for fire drills, PE, Music and how to walk with a zero voice in the hallway. We also learned the morning entry and afternoon dismissal routines, when to use the bathroom, playground rules and expectations, homework checks and how to complete our homework each night. On Fridays, we have Superstar Recess for students who complete their homework and at the end of the month we have a Prize Box for the students who did their homework 100% of the time for the entire month. We started XtraMath, IXL Math, RazKids, Reading Logs, Writer's Notebooks, Reader's Notebooks, Science Notebooks and Spelling Notebooks. September also had a lot of assessments. No wonder the month flew by... there was a whole lot of learning going on in room 206 and beyond.
